Shams Mulani Remains Hopeful for India Call-Up
Shams Mulani, a left-arm spinner from Mumbai, has been striving for a spot on the Indian cricket team for nearly five years. Despite his impressive performances, including earning the Player of the Series award in a recent first-class series against Australia A, he has yet to receive a senior call-up.
The 29-year-old expressed pride in representing Mumbai, emphasizing the intense competition within the team. After a significant victory in their Ranji Trophy opener against Chandigarh, Mulani reflected on his commitment to performing well in every match, stating that he remains patient and dedicated to his craft.
As he approaches 300 First Class wickets, Mulani is transitioning into a veteran role in domestic cricket. He acknowledges the natural disappointment that comes with missed opportunities but credits his teammates and coaches for their support. He actively seeks feedback to improve his game and enjoys collaborating with fellow spinner Tanush Kotian, with whom he has shared successful bowling partnerships.
