Shane van Gisbergen Reflects on Season and Missed Championship Opportunity

Shane van Gisbergen, a three-time Supercars champion, has expressed acceptance regarding his missed opportunity in the Chase for the Championship, attributing it to the overall season rather than a single event at Daytona International Speedway.

Entering the regular season finale with a 31-point lead, van Gisbergen initially extended his advantage with a Stage 1 victory. However, Ryan Preece ultimately won the race, significantly outscoring him. Van Gisbergen faced challenges, including a pit stop that raised concerns about fuel management, which contributed to his performance decline.

Despite setbacks, van Gisbergen noted that his team was the best performing among Trackhouse Racing's entries this season. He acknowledged areas for improvement but expressed satisfaction with his progress and camaraderie with teammates, indicating a commitment to continue competing in NASCAR.
