Sharks Defeat Dragons, Eels Triumph Over Cowboys in NRLW Finale
The Sharks defeated the Dragons 16-8 in the final round of NRLW, resulting in the Dragons receiving the wooden spoon. Meanwhile, the Eels staged a thrilling comeback to beat the Cowboys 33-28.
Both matches were significant despite none of the teams being in finals contention. The Eels, after a challenging start to the season, managed to secure four wins in their last five games. The Cowboys initially led with a try from Charlize Lloyd-Phillips, who later suffered a suspected ACL injury.
In the second match, the Sharks scored three tries in the second half to secure their victory. The Dragons' Ruby-Jean Kennard-Ellis scored the only try of the first half, but the Sharks responded quickly after halftime. Shenae Ciesiolka scored a late consolation try for the Dragons in her milestone 50th NRLW appearance.
