Shavkat Rakhmonov has expressed regret over his decision to compete against Ian Machado Garry while dealing with a knee injury. In a recent interview, the undefeated welterweight contender revealed that he entered UFC 310 last December with this pre-existing condition, which he now considers a costly mistake.

Rakhmonov won the fight by unanimous decision but has since faced ongoing health issues that have sidelined him throughout 2025. He disclosed that the knee injury had been troubling him for weeks prior to the bout, leading him to question his choice to fight after a year-long hiatus.

Despite acknowledging the risks, Rakhmonov admitted he felt compelled to compete. He reflected on his career, noting that he has made various mistakes, including taking the fight against Garry. While Garry has claimed responsibility for aggravating Rakhmonov's knee during their match, Rakhmonov's comments indicate that the injury was already present.
