Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles Set for Major WWE Backstage Roles
WWE Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles are reportedly on track for major backstage promotions as WWE anticipates a change in its creative leadership. Bruce Prichard, the current Executive Director of Creative Writing and Talent, is expected to retire after WrestleMania 43, although he may continue as a consultant.
Michaels is being considered to succeed Prichard in 2027, with preparations for this transition expected to begin soon. Since 2021, Michaels has led NXT and has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative, making him a strong candidate for a higher role in WWE's creative structure. His long-standing friendship with Triple H may also play a key role in shaping the company's future.
Meanwhile, AJ Styles is anticipated to take on a more active role within NXT following Michaels' potential promotion. Styles has expressed a desire to mentor young wrestlers, particularly after stepping back from in-ring competition. His extensive experience, including being a Grand Slam champion and his recent induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, positions him well for this new responsibility. As Prichard's retirement approaches, WWE may soon see these two familiar figures stepping into new roles behind the scenes.
