Shawn Spears Hints at Possible Retirement from In-Ring Competition
Shawn Spears, a veteran wrestler with WWE, has hinted at a potential retirement from in-ring competition. This speculation arose after he mentioned that a recent match in Canada might be his final appearance in his home country.
The 45-year-old wrestler had been inactive for a period before returning to live events, marking his first matches since July. Previously, he was involved in a storyline with The Culling stable but was removed from the group in late June. His last televised match in NXT ended with a disqualification victory over Niko Vance.
Since rejoining WWE in early 2024, Spears has remained active, briefly holding the NXT North American Championship in March 2025 and contributing as a producer for NXT. Before his WWE return, he spent four years with AEW, where he gained recognition for his rivalries and was part of The Pinnacle stable.
