Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson to Start Preseason Games
Browns coach Todd Monken has announced that both Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson will start in upcoming preseason games as the team continues its quarterback competition.
The decision comes after Monken initially aimed to finalize a starting quarterback during the offseason program, which did not occur. The next week will be crucial in determining who will start against Chicago on August 15 and who will lead the team in the home game against the Bills on August 22.
Watson, who has played only 19 games since joining the Browns in 2022, has not participated in a game since October 2024 due to two Achilles injuries. In contrast, Sanders, despite starting only seven games as a rookie, achieved Pro Bowl recognition, completing 56.6 percent of his passes for 1,400 yards, with seven touchdowns and ten interceptions.
