Shedeur Sanders Discusses Quarterback Competition with Bernie Kosar
As of August 11, the competition for the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback role between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders remains unresolved ahead of the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears.
Sanders has been advised that his off-field interests could hinder his chances of securing the QB1 spot. In a recent discussion with Browns legend Bernie Kosar, he emphasized his commitment to improving and focusing on football, stating that distractions do not contribute to team success.
Watson appears to be leading the competition as of early August, but Browns head coach Todd Monken noted that the race is still very close. Both quarterbacks are expected to start in at least one preseason game, with the Browns facing the Buffalo Bills on August 22 and the New England Patriots on August 27. Sanders previously mentioned that the quarterback room maintains a supportive atmosphere, avoiding any internal conflicts over the starting position.
