Shedeur Sanders Ranked Last Among Veteran QBs Ahead of NFL Season

Shedeur Sanders, the presumed starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has been ranked last among all eligible veteran quarterbacks for the 2026-27 NFL season. This ranking places him 35th out of 35, according to a survey conducted by The Athletic.

Sanders, who previously competed for the starting role against Dillon Gabriel, is now also contending with veteran DeShaun Watson. Despite his efforts, he has received negative feedback from coaches and executives, with comments highlighting his inaccuracy and struggles with reading defenses. Last season, Sanders recorded a 3-4 starting record, completing 56.6% of his passes with a passer rating of 68.1.

While some believe there is potential for improvement under new head coach Todd Monken, Sanders' current performance has led to his low ranking. In recent training camp sessions, he has taken the majority of first-team reps, indicating that the Browns may be willing to take a chance on him as their starting quarterback.
