Shedeur Sanders Records 79 Yards and an Interception in Preseason Game
In the Browns' first preseason game against the Bears, quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a performance marked by 79 passing yards and one interception. He completed 6 of 11 attempts during his time on the field.
Sanders was initially scheduled to play only in the third quarter, but his time extended into the fourth. Despite three series, the Browns did not score while he was in, although they nearly did on one drive. His standout moment came when he connected with Luke Floriea for a 35-yard gain on a third-and-13 play, but the drive ended without points due to a failed fourth-and-1 attempt.
Sanders' final pass resulted in an interception by Beanie Bishop early in the fourth quarter. While Deshaun Watson started the game, Sanders is expected to lead the team in their next matchup against Buffalo. Additionally, rookie cornerback Michael Coats Jr. was ruled out due to an ankle injury after making an interception in the first half.
