Shiho Kuwaki Claims Women's British Open Title in Dramatic Playoff

Shiho Kuwaki from Japan won the Women's British Open on Sunday in Lytham St. Annes, England, after a sudden-death playoff against Germany's Esther Henseleit. Kuwaki saved par on the second extra hole to clinch her first major title.

Kuwaki finished the tournament with a score of 1-under 70, while Henseleit, who holed a remarkable 40-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole, also ended at 5-under 279. In the playoff, Kuwaki faced challenges but managed to save par, while Henseleit missed a crucial birdie putt.

This victory marks the second consecutive Women's British Open title for Japan, following Miyu Yamashita's win last year. Kuwaki is now the fifth Japanese player to win an LPGA major in the past three years. Yealimi Noh, who started the final round with a three-shot lead, finished in third place after struggling with bogeys.
