Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua and Glover Teixeira, both former UFC light heavyweight champions, faced off in a boxing match on Saturday night at Spaten Fight Night 3 in Sao Paulo.
The event took place at Estádio do Pacaembu, where Rua, who retired with a record of 27-14-1, and Teixeira, who concluded his MMA career at 33-9, showcased their skills in the ring. The co-main event featured Luan Medeiros against Juan Cruz, while Olympic gold medalist Bia Souza competed in judo against Raz Hershko, losing by golden score.
In other judo matches, Rafaela Silva won against Prisca Awiti on points, and Felipe Preguiça secured a unanimous decision over Nicholas Meregali in jiu-jitsu with identical 29-28 scorecards. This event is part of Spaten's initiative to blend combat sports, featuring former UFC athletes alongside traditional martial arts competitions.
