Shreyas Iyer Discusses Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Future in T20 Team
Shreyas Iyer, the captain of India's T20 team, has stated that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will have to be patient for regular chances in the playing XI. This comes as established openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson continue to perform well.
Iyer noted that despite Sooryavanshi's promising talent, there is no urgency to include him in the lineup, especially since the current opening pair has been instrumental in India's recent T20 World Cup success. He highlighted the importance of allowing the young player to acclimate to the team environment.
Sooryavanshi, who is only 15 years old, has been part of India's squads for earlier tours but has played in just eight of the 21 T20Is since then. Iyer believes that the experience gained from touring will be beneficial for Sooryavanshi's development as a player.
