During the third day of the Galle Test, India captain Shubman Gill showcased his exceptional fielding skills by taking a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis. The catch occurred off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav, leaving the crowd astonished as Gill dove full length to his left at short extra cover.

Mendis attempted to push the ball through the off side but misjudged his shot, sending the ball quickly towards Gill. Initially aiming for a two-handed catch, Gill adjusted mid-air, extending his left hand to secure the catch just inches above the ground.
