Sierra Kerr Secures Spot in 2027 Championship Tour

Sierra Kerr, a 19-year-old surfer and daughter of Josh Kerr, has qualified for the 2027 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour following her performance at the 2026 Ericeira Pro in Portugal.

Kerr secured her qualification by reaching the final of the event, finishing in third place, which guaranteed her enough points to solidify her position at the top of the women’s Challenger Series rankings.

This achievement is part of a successful year for Kerr, who also placed second at the World Junior Championships, won the 2026 US Open of Surfing, and achieved fifth and ninth places at the Ballito and São Sebastião Pro events, respectively. Despite facing health challenges, including a Lyme disease diagnosis in 2025 that sidelined her for several months, Kerr expressed gratitude for her journey and accomplishments.
