Sindarov Delays Gukesh Preparation Until After Olympiad
Javokhir Sindarov is set to face D Gukesh in a World Chess Championship match later this year, but he has decided to postpone his specific preparations until after the Chess Olympiad. The match is scheduled to take place in Geneva from November 24 to December 12.
Sindarov, who recently won the Candidates Tournament, is currently prioritizing his participation in the Global Chess League and the Olympiad. He aims to concentrate on these events before shifting his focus to the championship match. His coach, Roman Vidonyak, will oversee his preparations once the Olympiad concludes.
Despite Gukesh's recent inconsistent performance since winning the title in 2024, Sindarov acknowledges Gukesh's strength as a competitor. Sindarov's measured approach reflects his desire to face Gukesh at his best, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the game.
