Sixers Injury Update: Barlow, Simons, and Bona to Miss Preseason Games
The Philadelphia 76ers announced that Dominick Barlow, Anfernee Simons, and Adem Bona will miss their next two preseason games due to injuries. This news comes as the team prepares for their upcoming match against Boston on October 16, which will be their final preseason game before the regular season begins on October 20.
The Sixers are currently at their first-apron hard cap and cannot add a 15th player without making a trade. Additionally, Ariel Hukporti is expected to miss the entire 2026/27 season after undergoing surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, leaving the team with 13 players on standard contracts.
Despite these injuries, head coach Nick Nurse indicated that the team's star players are expected to be active for their next game. With several reserves unavailable, Nurse may also evaluate camp invitees for potential two-way contract opportunities. The team is likely to adopt small-ball strategies in the absence of starting center Joel Embiid.
