Sofia Colonero Launches Innovative Jacket-Purse Hybrid at Penn State
Sofia Colonero, a junior at Penn State, has created a unique solution to the dilemma of winter fashion with her innovative jacket that converts into a purse. This design allows wearers to enjoy the warmth of a coat while easily transforming it into a stylish bag once they reach their destination.
The concept originated from Colonero's observations of fellow students opting to forgo jackets during nights out, often leading to discomfort in cold weather. Inspired by her experiences and a class project in her entrepreneurship minor, she began prototyping the jacket, which utilizes its pockets as purse compartments and features a chain handle.
After developing her initial prototype, Colonero collaborated with a seamstress to refine the design, ensuring it looked appealing in both its jacket and purse forms. As she prepares for the official launch of her product, she has received positive feedback from the Penn State community and is excited to share her creation, with plans for various styles of the jacket-purse hybrid.
