
Somerset Extends Lead Over Glamorgan in County Championship
On the second day of the County Championship match at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, Somerset solidified their lead against Glamorgan. Tom Lammonby fell just five runs short of a century, scoring 95 runs as Somerset posted a total of 441 all out, extending their first innings lead to 247 runs.
Somerset began the day at 92 without loss and saw contributions from several players, including Archie Vaughan with 68 and Josh Thomas with 59. Glamorgan, who managed 194 in their first innings, began their second innings trailing by 217 runs and ended the day at 30-1, with Mason Crane dismissed on the last ball.
Lammonby played a key role in Somerset's innings, reaching a half-century off 99 balls. The team’s batting performance was complemented by a strong partnership between Vaughan and Craig Overton, who added crucial runs before Overton was stumped for 41. Somerset's batting efforts have positioned them well for the remainder of the match.
