SPFL Reports Record £49.6 Million Payout to Clubs
The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has announced a record payout of £49.6 million to its clubs in the past year, reflecting a significant increase in financial distributions.
This amount represents an 18% rise, attributed mainly to revenue from broadcasting deals, licensing, match data, and sponsorships. The chief executive of the SPFL, Neil Doncaster, highlighted that these results demonstrate the league's strong appeal in a competitive international market.
Additionally, the Scottish Premiership achieved a milestone with attendance surpassing four million for the first time last season, showcasing its popularity. Uefa reported that around six million Scottish fans engaged with men's matches during the 2025-26 season, including significant numbers in lower leagues and European competitions.
