Spurs Preseason Opener to Shed Light on Starting Lineup

The San Antonio Spurs are preparing for their preseason opener, which is expected to reveal some details about their starting lineup. However, the final decisions may not be made until the first regular season game and possibly beyond.

Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox, and Stephon Castle are confirmed to be part of the starting five, but the remaining two positions are still up for grabs. Keldon Johnson, who was recognized as Sixth Man of the Year last season, emphasized the team's focus on winning, regardless of individual roles.

Another key player in the lineup discussion is 20-year-old guard Dylan Harper, who showed promise during the Spurs' NBA Finals run. Coach Mitch Johnson has not yet decided if he is comfortable starting three guards, indicating that further evaluation is needed to determine the best combinations for the team.
