Sri Lanka's Lower Order Shows Resilience Against India in 2nd Test

Sri Lanka's Sonal Dinusha scored his second century in consecutive Tests against India during the second Test match. Despite his performance, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 290, following India's first innings declaration at 503/9, resulting in a 213-run lead for India.

After being reduced to 265/8, Sri Lanka's last three pairs exhibited significant resistance, batting for over 40 overs before the innings concluded. This marked only the second instance of such resilience against India in Test history, the previous occurrence dating back to 2010.

Dinusha, who resumed the day on 85, quickly reached his century, finishing with 103 runs. Meanwhile, debutant Saransh Jain took his first Test wicket by dismissing Lahiru Kumara and later claimed Dinusha's wicket. India's Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar were the leading wicket-takers, each securing three wickets.
