St Kilda Delists Dan Butler and Ryan Brynes, Plans to Redraft Them
St Kilda has made the decision to delist veterans Dan Butler and Ryan Brynes, with plans to redraft both players as rookies for the 2027 season.
This move is part of the club's strategy to create space on their senior list for two first-round draft picks, specifically Picks 10 and 16, which will be added to the primary list.
Byrnes, who has played 95 games since being drafted at pick 52 in 2019, was a regular player last season, participating in the last 15 games. Butler, aged 30, has a total of 116 games and 125 goals for St Kilda since joining from Richmond in 2020, having played 10 games last season. The club's General Manager of Football, Lenny Hayes, confirmed ongoing discussions with both players, expressing commitment to their future with the team.
