Star-Studded IROC Field Set for Washington D.C. Race

The International Race of Champions (IROC) Series is set to take place in Washington D.C. on Saturday, coinciding with the Freedom 250 Grand Prix weekend alongside IndyCar. The event will utilize a 1.7-mile street course with the U.S. Capitol Building as a backdrop.

Two races are scheduled for the day, with the first race starting at 3 PM EST and the second immediately following at 4 PM EST. The lineup includes notable drivers such as Jeff Gordon, a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and Helio Castroneves, a four-time Indianapolis 500 winner, among others.

Other participants include Kurt Busch, Tony Kanaan, Bill Elliott, and Bobby Labonte, all of whom have made significant contributions to motorsports. Tommy Kendall will also compete, stepping in for Dario Franchitti, who had to withdraw from the event.
