Steelers Activate Joey Porter Jr. and Finalize Roster Moves
The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially included cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on their 53-man roster after he spent the entirety of training camp and the preseason on the physically unable to perform list.
Porter, who was not injured but awaiting a contract, is now part of the team's active roster. To comply with the in-season roster limit, the Steelers waived multiple players, including defensive linemen Kyler Baugh and Anthony Goodlow, as well as several others across various positions.
Additionally, the team terminated the contracts of several vested veterans, including linebacker Malik Harrison and running back Travis Homer. Defensive back DeShon Elliott and offensive lineman Jack Driscoll were placed on injured reserve with a return designation, while defensive back Donte Kent was moved to the reserve/PUP list. The Steelers made a total of thirteen player releases over the weekend.
