Steelers' Joey Porter Jr. Set for Increased Practice Participation

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is on track to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers lineup as he prepares for increased participation in practice.

Head coach Mike McCarthy expressed optimism about Porter’s progress, indicating that he could be a full participant in practice on Wednesday after missing the previous game against the Falcons. Porter had been limited in practice last week and spent the summer on the physically unable to perform list due to a back injury.

While Porter is working towards a return, he has also been seeking a contract extension, which has not been finalized prior to Week 1. The Steelers maintain a policy of not negotiating contracts during the season.
