Steelers Sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Practice Squad
The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the re-signing of veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad. This move comes after Valdes-Scantling was released by the Chargers over the weekend.
Last season, Valdes-Scantling, who is 31 years old, played five games for the Steelers, recording 10 receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown. He was originally drafted by the Packers in 2018 and spent four seasons with the team, where he caught 123 passes for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The Steelers are currently facing challenges with their receiving corps, as three of their top five wide receivers are unavailable due to injuries. Michael Pittman Jr. is on injured reserve with a foot injury, Roman Wilson is also on injured reserve with a finger injury, and Ben Skowronek is dealing with a calf issue.
