Steelers Sign Safety Rayshawn Jenkins, Release Darnell Savage

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of safety Rayshawn Jenkins to a one-year contract on Sunday.

This move coincided with the release of safety Darnell Savage, who had been with the team since June 2. Savage played for multiple teams in 2025, including two games for Jacksonville, eight for Washington, and two for the Bills, and he started 13 games for the Jaguars in 2024.

Rayshawn Jenkins was drafted by the Chargers in the fourth round in 2017 and has played for several teams, including the Jaguars, Seahawks, and Browns. Last season with the Browns, he recorded 45 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. Over his career, Jenkins has participated in 139 games, starting 92, and has accumulated 562 tackles and 11 interceptions.
