STEM Racing World Final Showcases Future Engineering Talent in Singapore
The STEM Racing World Final took place in Singapore, featuring hundreds of students from various countries competing in an engineering challenge aimed at fostering interest in motorsports. Team Lynx Racing, composed of six high school students from Saudi Arabia, emerged as the champions of this year's event.
During the four-day competition, participants designed and built miniature F1 cars powered by CO2 cartridges, racing them on a 20-meter track. The event saw 91 teams from 36 countries, making it the largest edition to date. Teams were judged not only on their car designs but also on marketing strategies and presentations, simulating real-world F1 team dynamics.
The initiative, which began in 2000, has become a significant platform for aspiring engineers, with many alumni securing positions in F1 teams. The competition continues to evolve, recently rebranding to enhance its educational outreach, reflecting the growing importance of STEM education in the motorsport industry.
