Stephen A. Smith Issues Apology to Lane Johnson Over Mental Health Remarks

On Thursday, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith publicly apologized on 'First Take' for remarks he made earlier in the week about Lane Johnson's retirement from the NFL.

Johnson, a veteran offensive tackle, announced his retirement on Tuesday, citing mental health and family as key reasons. Smith had questioned Johnson's decision during Wednesday's broadcast, which led to backlash and prompted his apology the following day.

During his apology, Smith acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate and emphasized the importance of mental health. He expressed regret for making light of the situation and recognized the need to take responsibility for his words.
