Stephen Jones Optimistic About Retaining CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens
Stephen Jones, the executive vice president of the Dallas Cowboys, has indicated that it is feasible for the team to retain both wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in the long term. This comes as Pickens is set to play the 2026 season under a one-year franchise tag valued at $27.3 million.
George Pickens was traded to the Cowboys from the Steelers during the 2025 offseason for a third-round pick and had a standout season, achieving 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. Meanwhile, CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys' leading wideout, recorded 75 catches for 1,077 yards and three touchdowns last season.
With the Cowboys currently committed to $94 million annually for Dak Prescott and Lamb, the organization faces a decision regarding their future with Pickens. Jones believes that the team can manage their finances to keep both players, despite the competitive market for wide receivers. Lamb has also expressed his desire for the team to retain Pickens, emphasizing the benefits it would bring to their performance.
