<p>Summer Shaw, a 22-year-old judoka from Camberley, won a bronze medal for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games 2026 held in Glasgow. She achieved this by defeating Botho Babutso of Botswana in the bronze-medal match of the 48kg category.</p><p>Shaw won the match by forcing Babutso into submission with an arm lock, finishing the contest in just one minute and 32 seconds. However, her pursuit of gold was halted by India's Asmita Dey, who defeated her earlier in the competition.</p><p>Despite not winning gold, Shaw expressed that the experience was incredible and mentioned her intention to compete against Dey again in four years, humorously noting the desire to win on Dey's home soil.</p>
