Sunderland Nears Deal for Malick Fofana from Lyon

Sunderland is on the verge of completing a transfer for Malick Fofana, a winger from Lyon. The club has reached an agreement for the Belgium international, who is expected to undergo a medical examination before finalizing his move to the Stadium of Light.

The 21-year-old has received clearance to travel to the northeast to sign a five-year contract, which includes an option for an additional year. Although some paperwork remains to be finalized, the transfer is anticipated to be completed before the deadline on Tuesday night.

Fofana had previously attracted interest from Arsenal, who were considering a move for him.
