Sungjae Im Advances to FedEx Cup Playoffs; Jordan Spieth Falls Short

At the FedEx St. Jude Championship held at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Sungjae Im of South Korea successfully advanced to the next stage of the PGA Tour playoffs, while Jordan Spieth was unable to qualify.

Im finished tied for fifth with a score of 7 under par, moving from 53rd to 40th in the FedEx Cup points standings. Despite a final round of 74, his performance was sufficient to secure his place among the top 50 players who will move on to the BMW Championship. In contrast, Spieth, who started the tournament in a strong position, ended up tied for 19th at 4 under par, finishing just outside the qualifying cut at 52nd in points.

Spieth needed a solo 23rd finish to have a chance at advancing but struggled in the final rounds, particularly after a 2-over 72 on Saturday. Other notable players who did not qualify included Max Homa and Harris English, among others. The top 30 players following the BMW Championship will qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship.
