Sunil Gavaskar Critiques Indian Batters After T20I Loss to West Indies
Sunil Gavaskar, the former captain of India, has criticized the Indian batting lineup for their lack of responsibility during their chase in the fourth T20 International against the West Indies, which took place in Hyderabad. India lost the match by 24 runs after failing to reach the West Indies' total of 247 runs.
Despite a strong performance from Sanju Samson, who scored 56 runs off 23 balls, the Indian team could only manage 223 runs. Gavaskar pointed out that the batting unit must improve its approach to chasing targets, stating that the players need to capitalize on good starts and take more responsibility.
He noted that while the bowling performance was subpar, the inexperienced bowlers require time to develop at the international level. Gavaskar's comments come as the series is now tied, setting the stage for a decisive fifth match in Bengaluru.
