Suns Transition Duop Reath to Two-Way Contract
The Phoenix Suns have announced the conversion of Duop Reath's Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way deal. This decision was confirmed by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Reath, a 6'9 center from South Sudan, has been a frontcourt reserve for the Trail Blazers for the past three years. He underwent season-ending foot surgery in January and was later traded to the Hawks, where he was waived in February. At 30 years old, he has averaged 6.2 points and 2.6 rebounds over 146 regular season games.
Reath signed his Exhibit 10 contract with the Suns in late September and participated in four preseason games, averaging 5.5 points and 1.5 rebounds. The Suns opened two two-way contract spots after waiving guard Koby Brea and forward CJ Huntley, and Reath will fill one of these positions, adding depth as starting center Mark Williams recovers from shoulder surgery.
