Swansea Claims First SRC Trophy Victory Against Cardiff
Swansea achieved their first Super Rygbi Cymru trophy victory by defeating Cardiff 26-3 during a rainy match at the revamped St Helen's stadium.
The team scored three tries through Ethan Fackrell, Matthew Aubrey, and Harvey James, along with 11 points from Josh Phillips' kicking. This win marked Swansea's first success in six matches, while Cardiff's unbeaten streak of five games came to an end.
This match followed Swansea's earlier defeat to Ebbw Vale, where they lost 27-26 in their first game back at the venue. The match against Cardiff attracted a crowd of 2,783, with the West Stand open for spectators. Plans are underway to further develop the stadium, aiming to enhance the experience for future games, including the upcoming Ospreys match against Dragons.
