Swiss Teams Lead Early Curling Power Rankings
The initial power rankings for the 2026-27 curling season have been released, with Swiss skips Alina Paetz and Yannick Schwaller leading the way. The rankings reflect the early competition in the new quadrennial, where teams are beginning to establish their standings.
Paetz's team has achieved three titles this season and holds a record of 7-3 against top-10 teams, while Schwaller's squad has also shown strong performance, winning the first Slam of the year. Other notable teams include Canada’s Rachel Homan, who is currently struggling with a 1-3 record, and Scotland’s Bruce Mouat, who is adapting to a new team dynamic.
As the season progresses, teams are balancing their early successes with the need to maintain momentum. The rankings will continue to evolve as teams compete in upcoming events, including the GSOC Masters.
