Sydney Swans Announce Player Selections After Suspensions
The Sydney Swans have announced the return of five players to their lineup after recent club-imposed suspensions. Caiden Cleary, Harry Cunningham, James Rowbottom, Angus Sheldrick, and Tom Hanily will rejoin the team, with no additional changes made beyond these five players.
Rowbottom's return was anticipated regardless of the recent events, while the other four players will have the opportunity to prove themselves ahead of the finals. Cleary has participated in eight games this season, with his last performance yielding five disposals against Fremantle. Sheldrick has played 17 games this year and was a significant contributor before being sidelined after Round 19. Cunningham, a veteran defender, has played 12 matches and brings valuable experience, while Hanily has appeared in four games this season.
Despite Cunningham's extensive experience of 231 games, the Swans are replacing a total of 716 games and five All Australian jackets with a combined 474 games of experience for their upcoming clash against North Melbourne. Additionally, the changes impact Sydney's VFL program, as the team prepares for a crucial final against Frankston with two debutants set to play.
