Sydney Swans Consider Zac Williams for 2027 Season
The Sydney Swans are looking to bolster their defensive lineup by considering former Carlton defender Zac Williams for the upcoming 2027 season.
This interest comes as the Swans face significant changes, including the departure of Harry Cunningham to Adelaide and All-Australian Nick Blakey's desire to be traded to North Melbourne. Additionally, captain Callum Mills is expected to miss most of the season due to an ACL injury, while veteran Dane Rampe is contemplating his future with the team.
Williams, who has played 183 AFL games since starting his career at GWS, is eligible for the new third Category B Rookie list aimed at increasing Indigenous representation in the league. Reports indicate that Essendon has also shown preliminary interest in him.
