Tai Tuivasa Changes Training Camp in Bid to End Losing Streak
Tai Tuivasa is making a significant change in his training environment as he prepares for UFC 331, aiming to break a seven-fight losing streak. The UFC heavyweight has struggled recently, tying with BJ Penn for the second longest losing streak in the promotion's history.
Tuivasa's last fight resulted in a loss to Louie Sutherland at UFC Perth in May, marking his second defeat of 2026. He has previously lost to several notable fighters, including Tallison Teixeira and Ciryl Gane. Now, he is set to face Robelis Despaigne in Los Angeles on September 19, with hopes of securing his first win since 2022.
To enhance his training, Tuivasa has joined American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, where he is working with PFL fighter Renan Ferreira. Ferreira, who has faced his own challenges in the ring, was recently knocked out by Francis Ngannou. Tuivasa expressed optimism about his new training setup, noting the wealth of knowledge available at the gym.
