
Takamoto Katsuta Thanks Rivals After Serious WRC Crash
Takamoto Katsuta, a driver for Toyota Gazoo Racing, has acknowledged the support of his rivals Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe after experiencing a significant crash during the World Rally Championship at Rally Paraguay.
The incident occurred when Katsuta's car rolled over after hitting a telegraph pole, leading to the cancellation of stage 21. Although both Katsuta and his co-driver Aaron Johnston were confirmed to be safe, Katsuta initially struggled to exit the vehicle due to the severity of the crash.
Following the accident, Katsuta was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks. He expressed deep appreciation for the quick response of Neuville and Wydaeghe, who provided assistance until rescue teams arrived. Looking ahead, Katsuta is now preparing for Rally Chile, aiming to recover from this setback and improve his standings in the championship.
