Tanzid Hasan Tamim Makes History with Maiden Test Century in Australia
Tanzid Hasan Tamim, the Bangladesh opener, achieved a historic milestone by scoring the first Test century for his country on Australian soil during the opening Test match against Australia at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin.
The 25-year-old reached his century on the second day of the match, completing the feat in 188 balls. He scored a total of 101 runs, including eight fours and a six, contributing to Bangladesh's strong response after Australia was dismissed for 198 on the first day.
This century marked Bangladesh's first Test hundred away from home since 2022 and was only the second Test century by a Bangladeshi against Australia. Additionally, Hasan Mahmud's impressive bowling performance helped restrict Australia to their lowest Test total against Bangladesh since 2017, further solidifying Bangladesh's position in the match.
