Tanzid Hasan Tamim Scores Century as Bangladesh Dominates Australia in Test
Tanzid Hasan Tamim achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a Test century in Australia during the second day of the match in Darwin. His innings of 101 runs helped Bangladesh reach 351-6, establishing a lead of 153 runs over Australia.
Starting the day at 32 runs with Bangladesh at 96-1, Tamim formed a significant partnership of 102 runs with Mominul Haque, who scored 49 runs before being dismissed. He later added 93 runs with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who contributed 84 runs. Tamim's innings concluded when he was caught off a delivery from Nathan Lyon.
Despite Australia taking three quick wickets after tea, the partnership between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Mahmud, which added an unbeaten 43 runs, ensured Bangladesh maintained their advantage. Historically, Australia has never lost a home Test to Bangladesh, with only one defeat in their previous six encounters.
