Target's Back-to-School Strategy Under Review by Stores Chief
Target's back-to-school season is crucial, ranking just behind the holiday shopping period. Business Insider accompanied Adrienne Costanzo, the company's stores chief, on her tour to evaluate preparations for this busy shopping time.
Costanzo, who has been with Target for over two decades, is currently responsible for more than 350,000 employees across 2,000 stores. Her recent visits included stops in Madison, Wisconsin, where she observed the shopping activity as parents and college students prepared for the new school year.
During her tour, Costanzo noted improvements in inventory levels and customer satisfaction, particularly with popular collaborations. However, she acknowledged ongoing challenges in training staff and enhancing customer interactions during peak times. A recent visit revealed areas needing attention, particularly in creating a welcoming atmosphere at checkout lanes.
