Taylor Knibb Claims Victory at 2026 IRONMAN World Championship
Taylor Knibb secured the title of 2026 IRONMAN World Champion after overtaking defending champion Solveig Løvseth in the last kilometer of the race.
Knibb initially took the lead during the bike segment, trading positions multiple times with Lucy Charles-Barclay. By the end of the bike course, Knibb had established a significant lead, entering T2 with a time of 4:40:07. Løvseth, who started the marathon nearly five minutes behind, made a strong push during the run, eventually passing Knibb at mile 21.
However, Løvseth faced a dramatic collapse just before the finish line, allowing Knibb to reclaim the lead and finish first. Laura Philipp finished in second place, while newcomer Derron took third after overcoming early challenges in the race.
