Team GB Secures Double Bronze at Para-fencing European Championships

Team GB began the Para-fencing European Championships in Cardiff with a successful performance, earning bronze medals in the mixed team epee and mixed team foil events.

The mixed team epee featured athletes Dimitri Cotya, Justine Moore, Piers Gilliver, and Gemma Collis, while Oliver Lam-Watson replaced Gilliver in the mixed team foil. Poland took silver and Ukraine won gold in the epee, while Hungary claimed silver and Italy secured gold in the foil.

This mixed team format is a new addition to Para-fencing, with the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games in focus. The competition in Cardiff includes participants from various countries, and organizers aim for a more dynamic experience with a 20-point format compared to the traditional 45-point version.
