Teddy Bridgewater has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after stepping away from the Detroit Lions. His retirement was confirmed when the team placed him on the reserve/retired list.

Bridgewater expressed that this retirement is definitive, sharing his decision on Instagram. He reflected on his journey back to the NFL following a severe knee injury in 2016, which had raised doubts about his future in football.

Originally drafted by the Vikings in 2014, Bridgewater played for several teams, including the Saints, Panthers, Broncos, and Buccaneers. He returned to the Lions as a free agent this offseason, but with the arrival of Josh Dobbs, he will not be part of the team's plans moving forward.
