Tennessee's Arion Carter Returns from Suspension with a Charitable Twist

Arion Carter, a senior linebacker for the Tennessee Volunteers, is set to return in Week 2 against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets after serving a one-game suspension. The NCAA had initially suspended him for two games due to accepting a $427 flight from an agent for a pre-draft training session, but the penalty was later reduced.

In a positive turn, Carter announced his intention to donate $427 to cancer research for every tackle he makes this season. He plans to contribute larger amounts for sacks, turnovers, and defensive touchdowns, with the cause being particularly meaningful to him due to his girlfriend's battle with Stage 2 breast cancer.

Carter's mother has established a nonprofit organization, Girls in Real Life Situations (GIRLS), and he is collaborating with her for this fundraising effort. Last season, he recorded 76 tackles, and if he matches that performance, his donations could exceed $33,000.
