Tensions Rise Between RFK Racing and Spire Motorsports After Southern 500
After the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, tensions have emerged between RFK Racing and Spire Motorsports. Chris Buescher, a driver for RFK, reacted to comments made by Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson regarding potential fallout from a crash involving Brad Keselowski and Carson Hocevar.
Keselowski crashed early in the race due to contact with Hocevar and expressed his frustration afterward. Dickerson warned that Buescher and Ryan Preece, both competing in the Chase for the Championship, could be affected if Keselowski decides to retaliate against Hocevar. He emphasized the complexities of unwritten rules in racing.
Keselowski and Preece both adopted a combative stance in their responses, while Buescher dismissed Dickerson's comments as foolish. He stated that RFK Racing does not wish to be involved in any conflict and criticized the unnecessary attention drawn to the situation. Buescher currently ranks 11th in the championship standings, with Preece in 15th.
